Description:
Columbus Technologies and Services,
Inc. announces a position opening for one or two qualified candidates
having experience and interest in studying the surfaces of Solar System
objects and in interpreting their origin and evolution. The position is
located at the Bear Fight Center, a
research facility near Winthrop, Washington. The position is to assist in
the planning, operations, and data analysis of five active space missions
and to conduct research using multi- and hyperspectral image data. The
employee may also assist in laboratory vacuum/cryogenic studies of candidate
outer solar system materials, in modeling of optical radiation-material
interaction behavior, and/or in thermodynamic modeling of small body evolution.
Candidates would preferably be in the early stages of career development,
but those in mid-career and interested in taking a leadership role in the
Center will also be considered. Position is offered at up to full-time with
benefits for a minimum of one year, and may be annually renewable dependent
upon federal funding.
Requirements:
PhD. in fields related to planetary science, as well as the ability to work
independently and as a strong team member.
