Description:
Columbus Technologies and Services,
Inc. is accepting applications for candidates having various levels of
experience with interest in studying the surfaces of Solar System objects
and in interpreting their origin and evolution. Positions are located at
the Bear Fight Center, a
research facility near Winthrop, Washington. Responsibilities for one
such position entails assistance in the planning, operations, and data
analysis of five active space missions and to conduct research using
multi- and hyperspectral image data. Other positions may include
assistance in laboratory vacuum/cryogenic studies of candidate outer
solar system materials, in modeling of optical radiation-material
interaction behavior, and/or in thermodynamic modeling of small body
evolution.
Candidates would preferably be in the early stages of career development,
but those in mid-career and interested in taking a leadership role in the
Center are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
PhD. in fields related to planetary science, as well as the ability to work
independently and as a strong team member.
